Communities

Early settlers arrived to our community in the early 1800s and homesteaded first in MacDougall Settlement and then in Notre-Dame.

By 1880, there were several well established villages, each with their school, post office and businesses. Their borders touched and strong bonds developed between them. In 1901, they united as a region and became the community of Notre-Dame.
